NORTON, Mass. – Rookie Miranda Wang had solo lead Sunday until caught on hole 9 by World Number One, Jeeno Thitikul, who was playing in the group right in front of her. Miranda also birdied 9 to take back lead.
The day was like a match play but the opponents were in different groups. Jeeno regained the tie with a birdie on hole 12. Miranda was putting for eagle on 12 but three putted. On thirteen, Miranda put her second shot in bunker but with exceptional shot saved par. On hole 15, Miranda made a mistake leading to bogey. Jeeno continued with pars just missing her putts for birdie.

But on the pivotal seventeenth, Jeeno put her second shot in thick rough around the green, her club got stuck, missed the green leading to bogey. Miranda had clutch birdie on same hole. So with the two shot swing, Miranda had a one shot lead going to 18.
On 18, Jeeno had a nice drive but didn’t think she could go for green in two. She had a putt for birdie but two putted for par leaving Miranda still with a one shot lead. Wang was on 18 in three, needing two putts for the win. Miranda’s first putt left her a tricky one and a half feet putt. The Blue Devil made the putt for her first LPGA win. The seventh rookie win in 2025.
Leading the Champagne Shower after the win, was Wang’s good friend and playing partner, Rose Zhang—which shows the friendship and respect of the LPGA players.
