ELEPHANT BUTTE, N.M. – With a record-breaking purse of at least $100,000, the 2025 Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort New Mexico Open has officially earned its place among the Top 10 PGA Section tournaments in the United States based on total purse.
The championship, to be held September 15–17, 2025, will feature an elite field of 155 PGA of America Golf Professionals, touring professionals including two-time PGA TOUR winner Matt Every, Korn Ferry Tour professional AJ Crouch, and NCAA individual champion Todd Demsey, and amateur golfers from around the region. This year’s tournament marks the beginning of a three-year partnership between Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort and the Sun Country PGA Section, making the resort the exclusive host and title sponsor through 2027.

With stunning desert scenery, a newly renovated championship course, and a booming regional development led by PreReal Investments, Turtleback is delivering the most ambitious golf event in the tournament’s 70-year history. “We didn’t just want to host a tournament, we wanted to raise the bar across the entire PGA Section system,” said James Prendamano, CEO of PreReal Investments. “With a Top 10 purse and a world-class field, we’re turning Turtleback into a national golf destination.”

The 2025 Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort New Mexico Open has attracted the largest roster of sponsors in the tournament’s history, underscoring the event’s continued growth and broad community and corporate engagement. Scheduled for September 14–17, 2025, the championship is supported by a wide range of local, regional, and national partners.

The Presenting Sponsor position is held by two national brands, The Bin Stores and Zapps Wholesale. Bin Stores is a discount retailer specializing in overstock and returned merchandise offered at value pricing for consumers. Live Forever Golf serves as the Official Apparel Partner of the New Mexico Open. The company will outfit players, staff, and volunteers. Live Forever Golf’s podcast, “Straight Down the Middle’ish”, hosted by two-time PGA Tour winner Matt Every and Live Forever Golf CEO Scott Riley, will also broadcast live from the New Mexico Open immediately following the Pro-Am on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
High-Stakes Hole-in-One Challenge
Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort is raising the stakes at this year’s championship with a four-hole-in-one competition, sponsored by Casa Auto Group of El Paso, Texas. Each of the resort’s par-3 holes will feature a marquee prize: a new car lease, $5,000 cash on two holes, and a bucket-list golf trip to Ireland.

Marina Vista at Elephant Butte Lake has signed on as sponsor of the tournament’s 10-by-17-foot video wall, which will showcase live course play, updated scores, and the Facebook Live streaming broadcast.
